You are tired. At times you even feel exhausted. You may be experiencing a lack of sleep because you are pregnant or have a baby up in the middle of the night, or you may need to get up early for work or school. Whatever the reason, let’s see if we can get you some relief for your exhaustion.
In this episode, we talk about improving your attitude toward the amount of sleep you’re getting, accepting reality, learning the difference between physical tiredness and emotional tiredness, cleaning up your thinking that is creating emotional fatigue, and getting better at being awake in the middle of the night and getting back to sleep as quickly as possible.
When it comes to being awake in the middle of the night your main jobs are to accept that you are awake (rather than fight it) and guide your thoughts in order to stay present (rather than letting them race all through your past and future). Also, please remember that the middle of the night is not the time to solve problems. It will all look different and better tomorrow. Save it.
