Ready to take control of your life?

In the beginning of 2018 I was feeling totally overwhelmed with my life. I was preparing for my husband to deploy and worrying about the fact that I would soon be running our circus by myself for a year. I felt out of control and like I had no choices over what was happening to me in my life. That was when I discovered life coaching and Jody Moore (
I soon learned how powerful my mind was and how by using Brooke Castillo’s self coaching model I was quickly able to take control of my life and stop feeling like my life was just happening to me and I was responding. The amazing thing was that nothing in my life changed, but everything felt different and better. The power of the self coaching model is understanding the difference between your circumstances and your thoughts. We can spend a lot of time wishing our circumstances were different, when for the most part changing your circumstances isn’t possible. When it is possible, it usually isn’t the best solution to your problem, at least right away. The thing in our lives that we have ultimate control over is our thoughts about our circumstances. Once we learn how to watch our brain and more intentionally choose our thoughts, we have unlocked the power to feeling how we want to feel (sometimes positive, sometimes negative). Choosing our feelings feeds the action we take in our lives, which ultimately helps us get the results we truly want.
Self coaching is like have a gym membership for your mind. Working with a life coach is like having a personal trainer. I can’t believe how my mental health has soared this year as I have learned about life coaching, learned to coach myself and others, and worked with my life coach, Jody Moore. I have decided to go to The Life Coach School ( next year (2019) with Brooke Castillo and become a certified life coach. I have already launched my life coaching business and absolutely love coaching women. I am so thrilled by this opportunity to gain additional training and experience in my new field of expertise.

  1. My name is Elise and I attended a Life Coaching Dinner Party at Jessie’s home in April. I don’t have a Facebook account so I’m using my husbands! I would recommend Jessie to anyone! These days there are many resources to turn to for self-help: therapists, groups, podcasts, literature, friends, family, church, or our own tainted experiences. How often do these resources affect change in our lives! Jessie’s life coaching actually did! Most women I know struggle with life challenges. Most women I know want to change or are seeking greater joy in their life. Cognitively we hear of all these things we should be doing to affect this change, but does it really happen? I’ve found that so many opinions and resources can be overwhelming and while I agree with so many of these “self-help” concepts, most of them stay just that – concepts, instead of applicable everyday tools I can practice. Simply Resilient Life Coaching was not another wasted resource, it really helped re-frame how I can tackle any challenge. I’m grateful for the models Jessie dissected with us on everyday issues and I left with a game plan on how to bring my life more joy, just with one session.

Shoulds and Shouldn'ts

One way you can start to play around with your thoughts is take a look at what your brain is saying SHOULD or SHOULDN'T happen and flip it and see what your brain can come up with.  I'll give you an example: The dog didn't get walked today and when he doesn't get walked he has tons of energy and barks a lot, chews things, and digs in the yard.
